Lexington Museum on the Bay

View map

The Lexington Museum on the Bay is a 910-foot aircraft carrier, which was in service from 1943 to 1991. It was moved to Corpus Christi in October 1992. Now a museum, the "Blue Ghost" is home to at least 20 restored airplanes, educational exhibits and several historical collections.

The aircraft are located on the hangar and on the flight decks. Some aircraft include a World War II SNJ Texan, a Korean-era McDonnell Banshee and an F-4 Phantom. In addition, there is now a fully restored F-14 Tomcat, an AH-1 Cobra gunship and a T-28 Trojan.

Upon entering the museum, you can choose from five self-guided tours. Visitors can inspect the flight deck and bridge, the foc'sle or the forecastle, the captain's and admiral's quarters, the sick bay, the engine room and the hangar deck.
